A battle in Arizona between real estate giants Compass and Zillow regarding listing policies may reshape the home selling process. Zillow's new rule, which bans listings not on the MLS or Zillow for more than one day, is in conflict with Compass's strategy. This has led to a federal antitrust lawsuit. The change affects how agents market homes, especially with Zillow enforcing the new rule. The debate over off-market sales impacting sellers financially adds complexity to the issue. The outcome of the lawsuit will impact not only Arizona but could set a precedent for the real estate industry nationwide. |
